Short profile

Dr Phan Nguyen is a water and climate change specialist with more than 20 years of experience working with intergovernmental organizations, international academic institutes and governmental agencies. Dr Phan is currently working for the Graduate Institute as the DPP Academic Coordinator and Head of Southeast Asia Region.

In the last five years, she worked for the Mekong River Commission, heading its Climate Change and Adaptation Initiative (2011-2016) and its Environment Programme (Jan-May 2012, October 2015-December 2016).

By training, she has a Doctor of Engineering in Water Resource Development. Dr. Phan teaches environmental governance and climate-resilient development. She has led many consultancy projects for the WB, ADB, UNDP, FAO, SNV, GIZ etc. on topics related to environmental safeguards, policy analyses, investment and financing for renewable energy, urban development and climate change, and project evaluation.
