The purpose of this interactive short course is to equip non-specialists with a comprehensive understanding of the root causes, impacts and current issues related to climate changes in the global and Vietnam. Furthermore, the course aims to improve participant’s awareness on climate change impact mitigation and provide them knowledge and skills for climate change adaptation planning.
Three-day training course will cover the following topics:
- Fundamentals of climate change
- Climate change actors and consequences
- Climate change impacts assessment
- Vietnam and international institutional framework for climate change
- Climate change mitigation
- Climate change adaptation
- Some tools and documents supporting for climate change adaptation planning
This course is designed for non-specialists and professional staff from government agencies, NGOs, community-based organizations (CBOs) and businesses who are concerned or involved in dealing with climate change related issues Methodology. The training will involve participatory learning approaches (PLA), application-oriented and interactive, emphasizing on group discussions and case studies. The course instructor provides conceptual framework to participants and his role is essentially that of a facilitator, monitor and adviser. Participants are encouraged to raise their ideas and issues related to the course topics which other participants and the lecturer together discuss and find out solutions as well as draw lessons learned.
Language & Venue
The course will be delivered in Vietnamese/ English. Course materials will be provided in Vietnamese/ English.
The training will take place in Hanoi and HCMC.
Participants need to fill in an application form and send the completed form at least 2 weeks before the commencement of the course.
